really?

oh what a frustrating time I am having!! Well, not about anything real, really. Just kid stuff. The cheerleading coach who 'forgets' my emails to her and then sends me emails. "Amy, on your form, you just listed 2 of you in the room, but you marked that you are paying for a room for 4, am I missing something?" YES. Remember how you told me to fill the form out that way and then you would put us with someone else?
or how bout that hockey tournament....we are playing 3 other teams. YES. JUST 3. And the games are Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, Monday morning and Monday afternoon. So Dave and Nathan get to sit around in Detroit for 24 hours in a hotel room. Seems they planned the whole tournament around the fact that some are willing to spend a million dollars to go watch the RedWings play.
GRRRRRR.
On the positive side...Z did great at swim lessons, Ike is awesome (9 month check up today) and we are going to a playdate at my friend Christina's house. Sarah is doing back handsprings in the living room, Nathan has never played better as goalie, Dave is still the best husband in the world and I am skinny (yet still not fit).
Okay, the positive stuff didn't work. I am still annoyed.

This week is gonna be crazy. Tonight is cheer and hockey AND pick-up for market day. Tomorrow is book club (not loving the book), Thursday is cheer and Dave is gone for a dinner. Friday Sarah has a bday party (have to get the present yet) and Nathan and I will be at mother-son movie night. Then Saturday, Dave and Nathan leave for Detroit and Sarah has practice. Sunday, Sarah has a competition and Monday we are out of school. Good times :)

Yesterday was crazy. Started out the Y and the class was packed full. Yay for all those New Year's 'revolutions' (as the kids say). Then I rushed home to shower, we had to meet Dave for a secret shopper lunch at Longhorn. Of course while I was in the shower, Ike fell into the deepest sleep of his life and Z refused to use the potty. We finally made it into the car and had a very nice lunch with daddy. We finished the lunch by heading up to Dave's office to update all his photo albumns with our beautiful new family portraits.

Once we got home we cleaned, made a few phone calls, and before I knew it the bigs were home. We did homework and started dinner and all of a sudden I felt HORRIBLE. Stomach cramps, nausea. Bad. Dave made it home and I laid around and moaned. By bedtime I was seemingly all better. I had one of those nights were you dream and dream and wake up unsure of who you are and where you are laying.

Today should be crazy as well. I am planning on heading over to my neighbor's to meet her infant twin girls and take her dinner. Tonight we have cheerleading and hockey. I am also racked with guilt because I should go eat lunch with Nathan today (he is star student) but I just don't think I am up to it. Oh...and we are supposed to get 3 inches of snow starting around lunch time. How many days until spring?!

But I don't wanna!!

This morning was the first day of Z's swim lessons. The lessons he was so excited about he packed for last night. That he had to choose the exact right towel for. That he drew a picture for his teacher. That he was ready to leave for 2 hours early. Yep. Those lessons.
Then he threw the biggest fit you have ever seen. funtimes.
Then the childwatch people fussed at me because I left Ike for too long because I couldn't leave Z because of the Mount Saint Helen's of fits. Oh...and finally, some older woman tried to give me all kinds of parenting advice as to WHY Z might be throwing a fit. THANKS lady.
But finally he agreed to sit and put his feet in the water if he could still get Sonic. And he splashed the teacher and gave her five.
Woohoo. Only 7 more days until the next lesson.

Jimmy, won't you lose my number?

I have definite 'issues'. I was subbing for Sunday school today when my phone rang. I grabbed it because Dave had the littles and it might have been him. Also, issue #1, I find it impossible to NOT answer a ringing phone. So I grab it and do not recognize the number. A 'normal' person would have let it go, but no, not I. I answer and it's this woman. Let's call her Ann Oying. She recently moved to this area and doesn't know many people. Her daughter knows Sarah but they are not friends. She has asked casually to get the girls together but Sarah has NO interest. I also see her at the Y and try to be friendly.
Ann called me the other day to get info on Sarah's cheer gym, her daughter wants to take tumbling. So I told her everything, gave her a number, gave her a url, etc. etc. We were on the phone for 30 minutes. Well, she got LOST driving there today and thought she would call me on my cell to get directions! She asked if I was busy and when I answered, 'yep, I am teaching Sunday school' proceeds to ask me for directions for 5 minutes! So what's the real problem? I am now worried that I wasn't as friendly as I might have been on the phone and I may have made her feel bad.
Explain that one!

Let it snow!

Today was a kind of lazy day of watching the snow fall. This morning Dave took Nathan to Wooster for hockey practice. Sarah, Z and I made cookies while Ike napped. We need them for the BSA cheer party tomorrow afternoon. Then we updated the kids photo albums and I discovered I needed to order more refill sheets and an album for Ike. Unfortunately the only color left is white. Poor Ike.
Then the big boys finally got home and Sarah and I went to get pedicures. Now we have to venture out into the winter wonderland to use up our Kohl's cash which expires today. I think we are gonna pick up ChickFilA for dinner. I am gonna try and run into Joanna's to see if they have the album sheets I need.

Happy New Year!!!

Oh my! IT has been so long since I posted anything! We had such a nice holiday vacation. Today is the last official day. Tomorrow starts the weekend of trying to get everyone back on schedule. So much has happened though. Dave and I both got sick right before thanksgiving. We had bronchitis. I took all my medicine and went to the doctor 2x and got better after 3.5 weeks. Dave did not and got pnuemonia. I lost 6 pounds, got Z potty trained and fit back in my skinny jeans. Dave finally got better and he lost a bunch of weight too. He told me he weighs less than he did when he was training for the marathon. I would think that some kind soul changed our scale, but then there is the fact that I am fitting into my pants!

Ike is changing like crazy. He has his first tooth, is pulling up on everything and says dadada all the time. His favorite is to crawl into the kitchen and pull the stools back and forth across the tile floor. It makes the most horrible grating sound you have ever heard. Z is his absolute favorite and anything Z does sets Ike to giggling.

Z is hilarious. His newest trick is to run around shouting, 'yes sir' and saluting. He also wants to play castle. I am a princess, Ike is a baby dragon and Z is a 'knife'.

The bigs are good. We have had a great vacation. We went to the dino museum with some of the calendar girls. Then we had burritos for lunch and Ike got to sit with the college boys. Then we had sleepovers. Christmas came and it was fabulous. Nathan got NHL2k10 for wii, Sarah got a new mp3 player and I got a laptop! After Christmas we finally got some snow and we have sledded, built a snowman (which fell this morning!) and a snowfort. Last night was NYE and we had so much fun. We discussed highpoints for the year (most revovled around Ike) and our resolutions for next year. They are: to run a 1/2 marathon in under 2.10, to get a shutout, learn to skate, get a backhandspring and have monthly date nights.

Here are some pictures:
